This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you use our mobile application, website, and related digital services (collectively, the "App").
The App is designed as a family-centric, safe reading environment. We strictly adhere to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state and federal privacy regulations in the United States and internationally. We do not display third-party advertisements, perform behavioral profiling, or sell user data.
2. Information We Collect
We collect limited information to provide, maintain, and support a high-quality storytelling experience. Information collection is split between Parent/Guardian Data and Child Profile Data.
A. Information Provided by Parents or Legal Guardians
Only adults aged 18 or older (parents or legal guardians) are permitted to create an account. When registering, we collect:
Account Credentials: Full name, valid email address, and password created by the parent/guardian.
Billing and Transaction Data: Subscription tier details and payment processing records. Payments processed via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are handled directly by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies. Direct payments on our website are securely processed by authorized payment gateways; we do not directly store full credit card numbers.
Customer Communications: Information provided when contacting customer support or providing feedback.
B. Child Profile Information
Child profiles can only be created and managed under an active Parent/Guardian Account. Child profiles include minimal information needed to customize the reading experience:
First Name or Nickname: Used solely to personalize in-app story headers and profile selection.
Age or Reading Level: Optional indicator used to recommend age-appropriate stories and content.
App Progress & Favorites: Reading history, bookmarked stories, and reading streaks within the App.
C. Automatically Collected Technical Data
To ensure proper functionality and performance, we automatically collect technical data from the device running the App:
Device Identifiers & Diagnostics: Operating system type, app version, language preference, crash logs, and performance metrics.
Non-Targeted Analytics: Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics to measure feature engagement and system stability.
4. Children's Privacy Rights & COPPA Compliance
Story Time Together is designed to protect children’s safety and compliance with COPPA:
Verifiable Parental Consent: We collect personal information from children under 13 only with prior verifiable parental consent obtained during account creation.
No Social Features or Public Profiles: The App contains no public chat rooms, social media integrations, message boards, or ability to publish user-generated content.
No Targeted Advertising: We do not host third-party advertisements or use child data for targeted advertising, marketing profiles, or cross-app tracking.
Parental Rights & Control: Parents and legal guardians have the absolute right to review, update, or request the deletion of their child's profile data at any time. Parents may also revoke consent and direct us to cease further collection of child information.
5. How We Use Collected Information
We use the collected data strictly for internal operational purposes, including:
Delivering digital storytelling content and app features.
Managing active subscriptions, account verification, and renewal status.
Responding to customer support inquiries and technical issues.
Maintaining security, preventing fraud, and enforcing our Terms and Conditions.
Improving application performance through non-identifiable telemetry.
6. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information belonging to parents or children. We disclose information only under the following limited circumstances:
Authorized Service Providers: We share data with third-party service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, database management, billing partners) who perform technical operations on our behalf. These service providers are legally bound by strict confidentiality and data protection agreements.

Upon account deletion, all associated child profile data and account records are permanently erased from our active databases.
